I have been a patient at Traverse Dental since 1978. Dr. Chuck Kelly set the tone back then, with a whole-person approach to dental care that included natural lighting and fabrics to reduce stress in both patients and practitioners. That philosophy can still be felt at Traverse Dental in it's own way and amidst the changes brought on by an entirely new staff. At Traverse Dental you are a whole person, not just a set of teeth. I always feel that I am in good care, listened to and respected.

Came in for a cleaning session with Lora. Mentioned an intermittent problem with a particular tooth. She did a “tap” test and checked the pocket depth on the tooth then took close-up x-rays of that tooth. The hygienic work was thorough and efficient. It’s never without a bit of discomfort for me as I have many teeth with exposed roots. Lora suggested a supplemental fluoride treatment because of the root exposure and checked on my insurance coverage for the treatment. I had to go in to have a crown put back on that came off over the holidays. My typical Dentist is on maternity leave and I had never met Dr. Swan. He and Abby we friendly, thorough, gentle, efficient, and kind. I definitely recommend this practice!

I was apprehensive about my first visit to a new dentist after moving to Traverse City recently. However, Dr. Chris and Shannon immediately helped me feel at ease! They explained everything to me, made sure I was comfortable with the conversation and couldn’t have been nicer. I made the right choice with this dental office!
