Came to get emergency medication due to a mental health crisis. I was told to move on from my SA, and that people were assaulted worse than me. And that i should be grateful that I'm not bed ridden and that I'm here getting meds today. When I wanted to leave from how I was told to move on from the absolutely worst thing that's ever happened to me, they wouldn't let me leave for 30 minutes. My twin brother got put in here for a total of 3 days last April. Every visit he was drugged out of his mind, and completely unaware of space or time. I have NEVER seen him in such distress in his life. Have the time he didn’t know if I was real or not. This place does not care about their patients. Maybe a few good members of staff do but there’s a reason why this place has a low rating. Do not send anyone here and if you have a loved one that got sent here, get them out asap!

The crisis stabilization unit here is one of the most valuable mental health care services in San Diego. They can only help you for 24 hours but you can show up with no prior notice and they will make sure you have food, shelter and shower before doing what they can to help you get continuing care elsewhere.
