This was the worst ED experience I ever had. I was there from 8pm until 5:30 Am. It wasn’t until 3:00am I got a bed. The 2 1/2 hours I was in the room, no one did rounds, vitals or anything. All I heard was a bunch of nurses having non work related conversations loudly. I asked joking on my way out the door, fed up if there was only one doctor for the whole Ed and they replied yes. I had surgery on 1-21–26 by doctor Naram and the staff with great care. I want to thank everyone for making me feel so comfortable, especially Darlene the postop nurse who made sure I was pain free before I was discharged.
Overall very good care in spite of being in the midst of the flu outbreak. Although ER was busy and I only got a lounge chair in the hall, the care was good and atttentive. I was admitted for 3 days and care was mostly very good with a couple exceptions. Traveling nurse Manny was exceptional as were many others. One of the night nurses, Delicia, was particularly unkind. Love to know who running the Wing hospital, I mean running it to the ground. There's no one at the entrance you must go through ER at the height of the flu epidemic. No food in cafeteria after 2pm. Some ridiculousl vending machine that hold 15 dollars extra of your money when you purchase something. The day stay has No one at the desk after 4:00. So I have no way to find out what's going on. 2hrs it said on paperwork it's been 3. Noway to check on them. Corporate Greed at its best. Sad world.
ER wait times are excessive. Expect to wait 4hrs + if you need to go here. Baystate in general needs some new management, this is true with most of their hospitals
