I am not from the area, and chose Bayou Market and Cafe just from the map. I am so happy I did! Tina was working and was very kind and wonderful. We tried the Meatloaf and the Blackened Chicken Pot Pie with Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes. Both dishes were delicious! It felt very authentic and showed that they had put thought and effort into the meals. We also had a blueberry pie thing that was delectable and really finished off the meal perfectly. This is one of my husband and my favorite spots to grab lunch during the week in the South Pasadena area. You can always expect friendly, fast service and a great rotation of classic southern and Cajun dishes and sides as well as refrigerated meals to-go.
Unmistakably some of the best food you can possibly imagine and way beyond what you would think is just typical catering. Dave has a phenomenal menu caters the whole deal and really just makes the experience unbelievable. He came to our house for the fourth time last night with a completely different menu each time and we have nothing but great things to say about it. Since it was my first time here, I got several dishes to try. The seafood jambalaya, spinach gouda stuffed mushrooms, seafood au gratin and the bourbon bread pudding. Everything was wonderful, seriously. I would order it all again. We had not had bread pudding for several years, since leaving Cincinnati, and this did not disappoint. I can't wait to go back!
