Our stay at Baymont Inn & Suites Freeport, IL on September 20, 2025, was a complete disaster. Our reserved suite had no running water, and the replacement room was in poor, unsanitary condition. The General Manager, Candice, was consistently unprofessional and dishonest. Refunds promised were partially issued and then disappeared, and repeated requests for her supervisor’s contact were ignored. Not happy with appearance of hotel.Hall carpets are terrible. Realize construction workers cannot read and have contributed to the dirt. Also stains on carpet indicates guests spilled breakfast as they carried back to their room. Guest rooms are clean for the most part but you can tell the person who vacuumed simply hit “the high spots.” Bed was clean; rest of guest room clean; breakfast room was clean and food hot. Very clean anda comfortable hotel
It's a party around the back side of the building. Around 4am, people were out there yelling, playing loud music. Total disregard for people sleeping in the hotel. Front desk couldn't put a stop to it. When I pulled in earlier in the day I could see a bunch of chairs outside in the back, etc. So I guess it's just the way it is? Get a room closer to the front of the building, my advice. I got like...4 hours of sleep.
$299 for 2 nights, on a weeknight, in a dated hotel outside of Freeport, IL is crazy. Plus they charged us $40 more than what we signed up for. The carpet was extremely dirty, with big dark spots, perhaps asphalt from the construction workers that were staying there. The outside doors were unsecured, propped open because the locks didn't work. We had to keep the windows closed due to the stench of the dumpsters right outside.
