All was excellent. Will definitely be back!
The revamp has absolutely lost the spark that made Bateau and Boat Bar worth going to. We order drinks but didn't get them until after the rolls and oysters were long finished. The staff couldn't be bothered to interact aside from our first ordering. For 7:30 on a Saturday, the place was at 60% capacity and the service still failed miserably. Bring back whoever ran front of house before this place took a dive. The menu lacks any luster, and for a place as expensive as it is, put out a special for the evening.
We loved Boat Bar and Bateau and were sad they closed. However, I was excited to try Jeffry’s - love a good steak house vibe. The Parker house rolls were fantastic, the Hama hama’s delicious and our steak was perfectly cooked (albeit a little too covered in sauce). However it took them 30 minutes to bring our cocktails - by then we had finished the oysters and rolls. Would have ordered another round but not at that pace. Overall a great experience. Food was mostly excellent. Service was excellent. The burger was incredibly delicious. Should come with fries for the price, but was nonetheless great. The steak and peppery au poivre sauce were excellent. Frites and aioli were excellent. Dessert mousse was excellent. We had the salads—the only small disappointment was the wedge salad only because it didn’t really have any bacon, just a bacon dust on top which I couldn’t taste. Our server Taylor made my wife’s birthday a truly memorable event. He has a great personality, he’s very knowledgeable and gives you room to enjoy your evening while checking in when appropriate.. Taylor hand selected the ribeye and knew exactly what I was looking for in a steak. The burger is a must have as well. Our bartender Ryan makes a mean Old fashion. Truly great staff and will definitely come back soon.
