Although the first section of the river is a little slow moving it is an excellent spot to float the river, nice and relaxing and there's a good beach area to stop off on towards the end of the float. Staff are super friendly and helpful, all round great experience, would go back again.
What a find! I'm a native Houstonian and never knew you could float the Colorado River in Bastrop. My husband and I are avid kayakers and we are familiar with the many kayak trails in the area but just never knew you could tube there. We came up a few weeks ago and floated with the Bastrop River Co. and fell in love with the outfitter, the relaxing float on the river. We went back again this weekend and floated twice. This is the 2nd time for us to float the River... The Staff is amazing and have the best personalitys ever..i love it at Bastrop River Company and the easy most relaxing river ever... you never have to worry about anything... Friendly folks, great experience, a pleasant escape from crowds.
The best way to deal with TX heat is floating down the river! After doing some research, we flipped a coin and decided to try floating the Colorado River with Bastrop River Company. It wasn't over crowded even on a holiday weekend, the river was clean, and BRC staff was helpful and really nice. We will definitely be back!
Kayaking trip is relaxing and fun. Excellent guides and great service!
