Our basement was one of those concrete boxes with exposed insulation and a single bulb in the middle. Homespace turned it into actual usable square footage. The first walkthrough they took notes on every weird thing we pointed out, the low spot near the sump, the cold corner by the window well, the duct that hangs lower than the rest. got our basement finished by homespace and its the part of the house we use the most now. we wanted a tv area, a small office nook, and storage that didnt look like storage. they did all of it. the office has a real door and the outlets ended up exactly where i needed them instead of being placed wherever was easiest. tv area has recessed lighting on a dimmer which sounds basic but the lighting layout took some planning. they suggested moving one wall about a foot to make the room feel less boxy and they were right. floors a... read more

first walkthrough was thorough. the estimator spent close to two hours in the basement going over options, asking what we actually use the space for, what we wanted long term. didnt feel rushed at all. quote came back detailed, line by line, which made it easy to compare against the other bids we had. once work started the crew was in and out on a consistent schedule. mornings around 8, gone by 4. they protected the stairs and the upstairs hallway with cardboard and plastic the whole time. communication was mostly through th... read more

called a few places before settling on Homespace. they were the only ones who came out, actually measured everything, and sent over a real proposal within the week. others either ghosted or sent vague numbers over text. once we signed they gave us a start date and stuck to it. demo took two days. framing maybe a week. then it was drywall, electrical inspections, paint, flooring, trim. they kept a shared doc with the schedule which i checked probably too often but it was always accurate. only hiccup was a backordered light fi... read more
