These people are unscrupulous crooks. Every visit we get charged much more than we should. For example, had to pay over $200 for preventative cleanings for my 2 children, and this is with insurance benefits. And this was after office staff informed us the visit would be covered without copays. These crooks take advantage of our rural area that lacks dental providers and price gauges their patients because they know we have nowhere else to go. Her office won’t schedule your teeth cleaning until she’s done X-rays and an exam. Then she’ll try to scare you into scheduling a few thousand dollars of work, for things no dentist has ever mentioned in all my years of regular visits to a dentist. Oh and then she’ll double bill you. And cancel your appointments with no notice. I’d hoped for better business practices and ethics in Humboldt and turns out she’s as shady as they get.

Dr. Trish Barsanti told me that my teeth were in terrible condition, needing several fillings, and crack repairs. I cried as she told me it would cost thousands and we must act fast. I was ashamed and traumatized. Someone talked me into a second opinion, thank goodness, because the next denist told me my teeth are beautiful. I didn't have a single cavity; just needed a simple cleaning. Barsanti's office billed me for $2,400 (with insurance). Not good but what options are there in Humboldt? Dr. Barsanti sat down next to me after my cleaning appointment and lectured me about my dental care. She said we talked about this in the past and discussed the expensive options to address her concerns - it was literally the first time I ever met her. The other dentist saw me one other time. I appreciate her “professional insight” but how could she give the guidance with a 15 second glance at my record. I am recovering from a head trauma from October 2015. I told office manager at Barsanti that I could not afford the periodontal therapy that was being recommended. Rather than cancel, I suggested a regular cleaning, better than NO cleaning at all. She accused me of attempting to commit insurance fraud. I called the insurance co and they never heard of such a claim. I called Barsanti today and the manager refuted the information still claiming FRAUD, and I should find another dentist.

I experienced Barsanti's dental office to be overpriced and their treatment plan to be excessive and unfounded. A second opinion told me the work quoted me was unnecessary. Their "standart of care", which involves a high price tag is too high for me I guess.

The dental work is excellent. Dealing with the front desk, however, was an achingly poor experience. I had the same reaction to and interaction with the office manager as another reviewer. At least I know it's not just me who felt this way. I don't want to be spoken to in a sing-song, extremely fake "nice" voice. It was extremely off-putting. Why can't normal, everyday speech suffice to communicate with patients? If this treatment is the norm for this office, I will have to find another dentist.

Dr. Barsanti is very nice and good at what she does, as are most others in her office. The lady who runs her office has me looking for another dentist. She is sarcastically nice, passive aggressive, and totally condescending. Just completely fake. She makes me uncomfortable and dread going to Dr. Barsanti's office. She seems like she hates her job and she must be miserable faking being nice, because she is not very good at it. I hate going to the dentist bc of the receptionist. Go figure
