Had my first class here at Barry's a few days ago. The staffers are informative and helpful, the space is clean and seemingly well-maintained; the class and the instructors were very clear with their coaching for the group class. The space felt very disorienting at first with low-light and loud sound, but once you get settled, it seems fine. My observation is around hygiene and cleanliness. James is one of the most well-rounded instructors I’ve taken—great energy, thoughtful programming, and strong attention to pacing. As a longtime marathon runner, I’ve especially noticed improved upper body strength from his classes, which has been a great complement to my training. He also makes the room feel engaging and personal, even in larger classes. And the mid-90s playlists don’t hurt. Always a class I look forward to.
