He is straight to the point when it comes to whatever you're dealing with (possible blood disorders on my part). However, he can be a bit less than compassionate and condescending (I don't know if it's due to frustration or what not), which caused me to feel uncared for and like my time was wasted as a patient. I need to have a checkup in 6 months, and I'm making sure that I will do it with a different doctor.

My dad went in with a lung mass. Brought in his old records of prior melanoma. Had a lung biopsy, which was inconclusive. The biopsy said it could be lung cancer, but couldn't rule out melanoma. Dr. Firstenberg opted to go ahead with chemo with older,lesser used chemo drugs for lung cancer. These drugs caused peripheral neuropathy, among other side effects that affected my dad with great pain until the day he died 6 months later of melanoma. He never had lung cancer. Don't use this doctor.
