Wonderful food – I've been going there for 30 years. Even worked there for a short while years ago. Have the BEST fried shrimp anywhere and the sauce is good and hot. I waited on a table of 6 guys who had just returned from Florida back in the early 80s and they ordered the shrimp and said it was better than anything they had in Florida. We had it again last night and it is still as good. Never had a bad meal there and their two house salad dressings are hard to pick between.
My boyfriend and I were trying to decide between Barnsider and Carver's for Valentine's Day. We had never been to either. Thank God we chose Carver's! We visited Barnsider in April of this year. The inside of the restaurant looks ok. The service wasn't bad actually. But the food was TERRIBLE!!! Oh my gosh! WHERE'S THE FLAVOR! Barnsider is my favorite place to dine. I do not go there just to eat, but to leisurely enjoy a really good meal. Sitting by the fireplace on cold nights, is wonderful. Not only do you get the atmosphere of a fire, but enjoy the wonderful service and great food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thank you for being here!
My bubble has been burst – I had never had a bad meal or service until my last visit on Monday, April 28. The service was so poor and the food mediocre that I will never return. I just found it unbelievable that the Barnsider has sank so low. When the food was served, my steak was cool and the baked potato not fully cooked and COLD. I have eaten at their sister restaurant, Harrison's, in Tipp City and it is EXCELLENT. Steak Break – Took a pleasure trip to DC, just my wife and I. Married for 37 years. Stopped and spent the night in Dayton, Ohio. Went to the Barnsider for dinner at the recommendation of the Hotel we were staying at. You will NEVER go wrong going there to eat!!!!!!! Absolutely WONDERFUL Restaurant. Best Steak I have ever eaten, and I've had Steaks from coast to coast! This is one NOT to miss!!!!!!
