If I could have given 0 stars I would have! Absolutely felt degraded for not having money to cover exam on date of appointment! Maybe let people know that it has to be paid upfront? Walked in for my 9am apt. Receptionist was kind but as soon as I said I had benefits she said you had to pay upfront being a mom of 4 kids my funding is always low with our economy it’s tough. The doctor is very well mannered and attentive. Appointments are scheduled by the office staff who are also very personable. There is lots of parking space. A much better choice for optometrist services than the busy big city offices.
Dr.Barnes was friendly and thorough enough. It was disappointing to have an exam and order glasses only to realize Sunlife has delisted him as a provider. The reason listed was his charging practices. Found out afterwards from several friends and members of the community that they too were denied coverage from his services. I have learned my lesson and will check with my benefit providers before being left paying out of pocket for services that I would have been covered for, had someone else made this review. I have been Dr Barnes patient since 2018 and very satisfied with his service. I'm happy to have my eyes exams done by highly qualified professional, backed up by state of the art equipment. The staff is very accommodating, and the cute, friendly and very well groomed doggy fits well as an office mascot. Highly recommend.
Dr Barns did not seem to have a lot of patience for excited 5 year old. As a professional he did not handle himself well when dealing with young kids. He appeared very stressed out and got frustrated when his dog approached people in the clinic. Why is a dog in a doctors office? Especially if you don’t want kids near it.
