This is one of the more Innovative menus that I've seen in a long time. We've been blessed to go to a bunch of different restaurants, including several one two and three Michelin star restaurants. Is this place as good as Alina in Chicago? No, but its also not $1,000 a person. Super innovative and quality food that rotates regularly, and a great drink menu. Thw wine list in particular is full of great value gems. Highly recommend if you like fun, innovative, meals.
I was very happy to find this place( make sure you use the right door , I didn’t) but it’s a little on the quirky side very upscale very good food all of my “old-fashioned” friends will know what I’m talking about. I had the meatballs, very good.
Incredible experience - top to bottom. From the first step into the speakeasy, you know you're in for something special. We had really good cocktails, bao buns for an app and I had the best burger of my life. The NYC cheesecake creme brulee was out of this world. We will be back!!
Spent a dinner at Barley & Smoke. Very nice Speakeasy in the heart of Peoria, we went throughout the kitchen to reach the dining area, very nice; cozy atmosphere, kind and efficient waitress, great food very much appreciated. Reason of the 1 star review is that to serve the excellent B & S Burger cut in half (the two of us shared it) we found in the bill a 2$ fee (not written anywhere in the menu). Overall had a very positive experience: The ambiance, setting, and service were excellent. Sitting at the bar allowed us to have easy views of the kitchen and ask questions to our server. Everything we got from the drink menu exceeded expectations. Our food was good, not great. The shrimp and pork ribs were both doused in excellent sauces but were both overcooked, and the sauce from the grilled romaine didn’t sit very well with either of us.
