This place certainly fills a need in the small town of Occidental. Tasty food, nice light dining room with lots of windows, dark dank bar with just enough stools, old wood style construction, and several local craft beers on tap. Bar tender did a great job of also being the server. The food was tasty, but my medium cooked burger (2 times now), drips all over the tray they serve you on. The kinda stuff small towns are made of, have a pint, great beers on tap.
Editing this to update since they’ve reopened! Onion rings are even better! We had the blistered carrots (maybe a couple more carrots?) and the Brussels sprouts. Both were great although a little less sugar in the sauces would have been better. The clam chowder was superb, chunky and full of goodness, not thin on ingredients like most we’ve had. We love their fish and chips, absolutely the best around! And the craft beers, especially the henhouse. The live music isn’t bad either -I wish they would re-open!
