Wonderful I just read the review from kathy d. and felt I needed to respond to her review. I have been coming to the Bark and Purr Pet Retreat for over 15 years and think it is a great place to keep your animals. Their staff is very courteous, friendly and very helpful. I have two Golden Retrievers and they get very excited every time I bring them here. In my opinion the owners have made great improvements and have carried on the tradition started by the previous owners Jack Hines and Jim Brooks, a home away from home for yo... read more

Also Also, this business has been here for a long time but, the problems look like they started with the new owner Whelan, Timothy G that purchased Bark and Purr in March of 2003. The owners before that did a great job and were wonderful people. I'm sure that the prior owner Peggy Giles would not have run her business this way.

Internet is a strange place We've boarded some very cherished dogs there for over 20 years and continue to do so. We have never had any problem even with long stays. On our last trip we picked up early and the dog was already bathed, andobviously well cared for.

HORRIBLE!!!!! NEVER BOARD YOUR ANIMALS HERE!! I brought my dog here and the first time I brought him it was ok, and I didn??t have any problems. The next time I brought him I wasn??t able to drop him off until after I got home from work which was about 4. I brought him in with his food, so the could feed him, the person on the phone failed to mention that the do their ??evening? feedings at 3. So my dog wasn??t ever feed!! When I picked him up the next day they handed me his bag off food bag back and it looked like it wasn??... read more

Never again! Not enough staff. When I picked up my dog he was filthy even after I paid for a bath. My dog peed for days after bringing him home. It makes me wonder if he was ever let out of his room. Complained was told owner was busy and would call me back. As of today he has not called so I am not holding my breath. Next year I will take my dog with me.

Do NOT board your animals here! My current job (an animal clinic) takes in a lot of the owner's poodles that she breeds and some boarders that get sick while boarding at this place. This is by far the worst place to keep any animal. The employees are nice but the owner is very trashy! She apparently keeps a stock of antibiotics on hand that she just administers to whatever dog she thinks needs it without taking the animal to see a vet. Including dogs that get kennel cough from her facility!!! I do not see how anyone's pets w... read more

Wonderful My sister told me about Bark and Purr and we recently had to go out of town and needed a place to leave our puppy because no one in my family have an enclosed back yard. I was so impressed at how clean and nice the "retreat" was when we got there. The staff is very friendly and shows you around and lets you see where your pet will sleep and play. They explain everything to you and make you feel at ease leaving your pet there. The prices are very good and a lot less than we expected. You can even have them groommed ... read more

Great This place is one of the best places that i have been to for boarding your animals. I have been using them for a few years now and they are really just that great. They are not very expensive either so that is also a plus. They have taken care of my dogs and cats so well every time that i have gone in here and i would reccomend them to everyone to use.
