I can’t believe how bad this organization is. The only way they will help you is if you follow the diet perfectly. No one can. My stomach is stretched. They aren’t supportive. They’re rude. Please contact the medical ombudsman and place a formal complaint!
Id been through the program once before and had been denied. I'm glad I was because it gave me the kick in the pants I needed to really get my shit together. I was referred again as soon as I could be and after months and months of appointments, I was approved for my surgery and it's scheduled for December 3. I cannot thank these people enough - everyone has been so, so kind and helpful, always willing to answer questions, and really thorough in explaining everything to me. Surgery is not an easy option, the staff see too many people come in and not make the commitment necessary to be successful in the program, as such sometimes I am sure they get frustrated when people do not comply with the instructions set forth. They are not there to be your friend or verbal punching bag, they are there to assist in changing your life. I had only positive experiences with the staff, in Guelph. Maybe remember they are human, the same as you. A little respect and courtesy goes a long way.
This is an extremely vulnerable process, usually taken on by people who have tried many things and feel like they have failed. The staff are extremely unempathetic, rude amd worst of all, judgemental. There's a difference between clinical honesty, and just down right hurtful. I quit the program. I'd rather stay happy and fat, then picked on by the people who are supposed to help.
