They will take electricity from you without paying for it. They will overcharge you for water, sewer, and garbage (it will range between $140-360 a month). When you confront them they will lie about being compensated by the Portland Water Bureau. They will fail to refund your deposit, or give a reason why they are keeping it. I have been waiting over 4 months for a resolution to their incompetence, and they continue to send me to someone who cannot communicate properly.
The location is what sold me on the Barcelona. All the action of the NW and easy access to get around town. The building is clean and secure. Shopping and entertainment is all walking distance. The building manager Maddie has been great throughout my tenure. I just moved from my ground floor unit to a larger patio unit upstairs and it was a breeze.
I’ve lived in the Barcelona Apartments for a little over a year and honestly, the manager Maddie is what sold it for me. She was kind, helpful, and really took the time to show this apartment to me and help get me through all of the application process. It was one of the easiest moves I’ve ever done. My fiancé and I have lived in the Barcelona apartments for about 6 months and have had the best experience. We love our unit and our neighbors are all so kind. Also, the manager Maddie is amazing to work with. If we need something fixed, she is extremely responsive and gets it taken care of right away!
