successful colaberation – We are pleased with Barbara's attention to detail which merged beauty and comfort. She listened to us and we listened to her. She had the talent to create a most satisfying interpretation of what we wanted. Easy to work with as well.. .This time we concentrated on our downstairs. We will use her in a few months when we redo our upstairs.
Fantastic Designer – Hiring Barbara Pallat was the best thing we did! She helped us combine two households of furniture and accessories into one, as well as remodel our house to accommodate our growing family. We could not have accomplished this without her expertise. She handled everything. After the initial work, we have since called her back on two occasions to assist with additional remodeling of our 5,000 s.f. home. She is always willing to work around our very hectic family schedule.
Highly Recommended – I have had the pleasure of working with Barbara on design consulting for my office and hired her again for a complete overhaul on my home, particularly my living room that required an extraordinary amount of planning and custom millwork.. Worst design experience – Beware of hidden fees that are not specifically spelled out. Although she offered to drive to the mart, I unkowingly was charged $125/hour for this service. She did not keep accurate hourly charges which she refused to change.She drew and charged me for a floor plan that I specifically told her I did not want. Also claims she owns the floor plan, though I was charged and paid for it. Had no clue about the cost of items, even though she was told a budget. Very difficult to get prices. We have over 15 years of positive client experiences and acquire most of our clients through referrals. We have a straightforward one-page design contract clearly defining how and when hours are billed. When purchasing furniture, floorplans showing furniture and sizes are required to avoid costly mistakes. Pricing is always clearly defined in Purchase Proposals and require signed approvals by the client. 100% open communication and clarifications are priority throughout the design process.
