On New Year's Day we had a reservation for 15, we waited an 1/2 hour for the waitress to take our order and it took another hour to be served. And, then our order was wrong.
Blast From The Past I remember going here as a kid and loving it, and it was a road trip destination when I was in high school in Virginia. I was delighted on a recent trip to Frederick to see it was still there, so of course I had to stop for lunch. Our food was really good - I had salad, my mom had potpie, and my grandson had chicken tenders. The tenders were 100% chicken breast - no pink slime in the food at this place - and hand breaded. Barbara Fritchie Restaurant has great food ! My family stopped by on our trip from PA to VA, for second time in 2 years. The food was excellent; large portions and great prices. The waitress on our second visit was more down to earth than the first visit. The building is old-fashion looking but we came for the food. The food took some time but it was hot and great well worth the wait for fresh home cooked meals. We plan to stop by again during the holidays! Keep serving up the great food.
exactly what it appears to be!! My wife and I stop here regularly when driving through from Michigan to DC. This is one of those old-fashioned diner type places with homemade food and employees that are small town eccentric, hence the charm. I challenge those with the bad reviews to examine their expectations. Good, basic food. The place is neat and clean. It is an old building but I wasn't fighting off bugs or using dirty utensils. Not so sweet! We had heard great things about this place since they changed hands. We were misinformed. The place is extremely run down still and the service was ridiculously slow. The waitress was anything but friendly and the food was cold. Horrible experience!
