My family has been extremely disappointed with the level of care our loved one has received during the night shift at Baptist Memorial Rehabilitation. While the therapy team has been exceptional and has played a significant role in his recovery, the overnight nursing staff has consistently failed to provide the basic care every patient deserves. I cannot say enough about the exceptional care my mother received at Baptist Memorial Rehabilitation Center during her physical therapy stay. From the moment she arrived, she was surrounded by staff who truly went above and beyond. Brittany and Mary in Occupational Therapy were absolutely amazing — their skill, patience, and encouragement made such a difference in my mother's progress and her spirit. This is, without a doubt, the worst facility I have ever experienced. We are currently waiting for our father to be discharged next week, and we cannot wait to get him out of there. This place is nothing more than a glorified nursing facility. I honestly don't believe the positive reviews accurately reflect the care being provided. The only bright spot has been the therapy team—they have been professional and caring. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for many of the nurses and CNAs. The nurses are very unprofessional and lack empathy and care for people’s loved ones. The night nurses are lazy drug patients up with sleep meds so they can sleep and not have to do anything through the night. I also sent my dad food & it sat through 3shifts and took me coming back to ask about it. My dad has dementia and is physically incapable of doing for himself. They don’t care, at all. Our experience at this rehabilitation center was a stark mix of exceptional therapy care and a deeply disappointing administrative process. My loved one was admitted for a spinal cord injury involving a Workers' Compensation claim, and on a positive note, the physical and occupational therapy teams were outstanding.
