Be VERY selective and particular about the surgeon you choose! One of Baptist’s surgeons (Dr. Patricia Figert) is older (in her 50’s) and still has strong preferences for the old-school, pre-op protocol of ordering invasive and infection causing bladder catheters after patients have been anesthetized. Most surgeons no longer expose patients to that indignity.
