At Liverpool Hospital in the geriatric ward I observed the nurse manager tell elderly patients she was going to send them "far away". I also observed the doctors discharging patients into nursing homes they knew didn't have the capacity to care for them.
When I broke my ankle in July, I was taken to Bankstown Hospital by ambulance. Sincere gratitude for the wonderful care and attention I received from all staff from the time I was admitted. I have only praise for the nurses in the various wards I was placed while awaiting surgery. Special thanks to the doctors who attended my injury, particularly Dr Will Ridley who performed the operation to get me back walking again, his team as well as nurses in the Orthopaedic Ward. I am extremely disappointed with the service at Bankstown Antenatal Clinic. We handed in our cards more than 55 minutes ago, yet patients who arrived after us were taken in first. It makes me wonder if our card was misplaced or if they simply don’t care. The reception staff were dismissive, unhelpful, and had a very bad attitude. Some of the doctors were no better—cold and unprofessional in the way they treated us. Waiting around while being ignored, with no explanation or courtesy, is completely unacceptable. One of the worst hospitals even in Sydney. Maternity unit’s staffs don’t know how to talk and deal with a sick patient. Such a disgrace!
Very under staffed and not enough staff to attend patients needs Emergency 2 weeks ago as glass was in foot and a 5 hr wait to be attended to Today outpatient appointment booked for 9am to remove stitches and now been 3 hrs waiting Other people seen leaving after complaining that been 4 hrs and still not attended to
