I purchased an Optimum Wellness Plan in 2014 and since then have paid $139 per month. On May 26, 2020 I had to put my fur baby down. The next day I called to notify Banfield to discontinue the "insurance" coverage and was told this was not insurance but a wellness plan and my remaining balance would be over $500. I find this outrageous. At a most distressful time, especially during a pandemic, to receive this news is crushing.
None of my concerns were taken into consideration after my dog came from the groomers looking like he was about to pass out from a grooming gone wrong. He received poor care and was sent home Where he ended up having a seizure. I call back and they tell me oh we’re about to close so you need to go to an emergency care hospital. Then I call to speak to the manager and he has an attitude.

Love the Wellness plan. I have been with Banfield 4-5 years and never a problem. The yearly dental cleaning is a plus! I didn’t give 5 � because sometimes the wait to see someone is awhile even with an appointment
Kinda emergency visit on a sunday morning...no complaints...they were very nice
When this location first opened I was pleased with the staff and how my animals were cared for. They were compationate and kind. Sadly the original staff has moved on. Now we get drop off visits which is fine. The vet I speak to seems nice enough but there is a disconnect between here and the Vet Tech I have to deal with. The Vet Tech has limited customer service skills of any at all.
