Banana Leaf Restaurant

About this business

The Panchal family welcomes guests into this humble restaurant, to savor the rich, exotic flavors of South Indian cuisine. The restaurant gets its name from the practice in south India, of eating off a banana leaf instead of a plate. The menu at Banana Leaf stays true to Indian cooking traditions, offering a vast variety of typical dishes like utthappams, dosa and rice and curry preparations. Buffet meals are offered for dinner; your meal begins with a lassi (flavored yogurt) followed by chaat (Indian street food), then come... read more

As a gluten-free vegan, this is my all-time favorite Indian restaurant! My husband and other omnivores I've brought love the food, too. Take their cooking classes, which are very informative - I can't wait to try the recipes for myself! Warning: come hungry and wear comfortable pants. The buffet and appetizers are all-you-can-eat, and you'll want to eat all of it! The owners are lovely people, always willing to answer questions. A must-go whether you're a novice to the cuisine or a long-time lover of Indian food!

This is one of the best Indian vegetarian restaurant in Columbus. I had a privilege to see the kitchen area and everything was clean and well organized. The food made daily on the premises and always fresh.

Not only was the food AMAAAZINGGLY TASTY, our needs were accommodated with meticulous attention to detail. Whether we were on a tight budget for a particular meal, or we needed special stuff, the owner (Mr. Panchal) worked with us to suggest what best we could do, even giving us complimentary stuff many times. PS: The Mango Lassi (Mango-Yogurt Smoothie) is ... read more
