the brasserie is fine. noisy busy. decent food. speedy service. this is about the bakery: why would you serve stale croissants? maybe you're saving a penny, but you surely lost me. Adieu mon vieux!!
Loved the scene – I just discovered this place on my last trip to New York City. The food was really good -- and totally reasonable in price for New York. I loved the French brasserie ambiance too. It was crowded and we ate early to get a seat, but it was worth it.
Nice cake – We enjoyed my son's birthday at Balthazar, its a very enjoyable place and the taste of cake was very nice, I had never had such a delicious cake and the staff was also very friendly. Thanks
Best Food in Manhattan – You could go here for the atmosphere alone, but the FOOD IS SIMPLY TO DIE FOR! I have been twice and each time the food has been some of the best Ive ever eaten. The food is amazing, and the service was perfect. This is a place you dont want to miss... make sure you make a reservation :)!
Love this place! – Seriously, if you get a chance to go, check these guys out. its gooooood
Classic NY Experience... – My all time favorite NYC restaurant! The scene is very NY - crowded and busy, yet intimate. Highly recommended: LeBalthazar (for seafood lovers) - not only is this a delicious cold entree with a nice white wine or champagne but the food presentation is very impressive. Also, the mussels with frites is amazing as is the bread. Cannot praise this restaurant enough. Reservations are recommended unless you are stopping by in the afternoon.
Well worth a visit and maybe a revisit next time I'm in NYC – Took me back to a visit to La Coupole in Paris although less formal. Large open seating area. HUGE floral bouquet. Great selection of East and West Coast oysters. Very busy at dinnertime on a Thursday but servers seemed organized and efficient. I started with the warm goat cheese and caramelized onion tart and then had a lamb special. I thought I might finish with a plate of cheese but instead chose to have an almond pastry. My female server was friendly and compe... read more
I dream of Balthazar... – This is my favorite restaurant in NYC. I actually miss it when I'm not there! Fantastic food, great service, fun location!
dont go there – if you think that this crowed noisy tourist trap with such a poor menu ressembles to any Parisian bistro you are highly mistaken. I live in Paris and I found that the only french was the extremely rude supervisor Stephanie who explained that a 45 min delay is normal because we had an appetizer; We left without eating the rest of our meal.
Balthazar has a 4.4 star rating with 8,637 reviews.
Balthazar is open now. It will close tomorrow at 12:00 a.m.
