Their warranty department is very smooth at writing emails as you can see. Ball Homes had made many promises to warranty their work but at the end of the day they did not have the integrity they though they had, the workmanship is dubious, from an unterminated live electrical line to poor roof framing. They also failed to disclose the width of the street is non conforming to the minimum Knox county code for streets, so on a street with 12+ houses there are only 2 maybe 3 legal street parking spots for visitors at the end of ... read more

Business response:

Our Customer Relations Manager corresponded with the customer about several items following the completion of the 1-year warranty interval work, and shortly before this review was posted. One of the exterior items had been completed but the customer was not present for the repair, others were homeowner maintenance items, and one was considered a property damage issue if not identified prior to closing. As we explained to the customer, we are sorry not to have been able to reach a better understanding or meet expectations. We... read more

I was lied to about nothing being build in our back yard. I received a letter just before the holidays stating that there would be power lines in our back yard. I would never have purchased the house if I had known about this. Ball Homes has known about this since 2020....

Business response:

The customer is referring to an on-going, large scale TVA public utility project to meet the demand for energy in the growing Hardin Valley area, which is routed in part along the edge of new development at The Reserve at Hickory Creek. While no one intentionally withheld any information or had specific information pertinent to any of the individual lots in this community, we can certainly sympathize with the customer’s concerns. In any communication from the TVA early in the project, it was our understanding that the planne... read more

Excellent value I purchased my Ball Home in 2002 and have been very pleased thus far. The value for the home was outstanding and my house has appreciated greatly in the few short years I have owned it. One caveat of purchasing a Ball Home, of course, is that they are very "cookie cutter" on the outside, but I enjoyed the options for modification for the inside. The design reps were very friendly and helpful in assisting with these choices and the Ball Homes mortgage staff are world class, as well. While I have been very plea... read more

I purchased a premium lot from Ball Homes in 2019. We were excited about our new home, we sold our other house that was built by Ball homes back in 2001. Everything was going well until they ripped the back of our lot up . We were told it was going to get fixed by Greg at Ball homes our contractor and David S****** at our realtor. We now have a huge ditch across the back of our lot. We were told at signing it would be a gentle slope. Never was fixed. We paid $3000 Xtra for our lot. I talked to Greg and his boss and was told ... read more

Business response:

We have reviewed our customer service files and can confirm that we have had some communications with the customer regarding the grade of the lot, which was graded and sodded a few days after closing in the fall of 2021. In response to the customer's concerns at the time, we regraded part of the yard to move the swale to the very back of the lot to work better with their fence installation. In April of 2022, we did some further work to the drainage swale that runs through the rear of this and other lots at the requirement an... read more

Six months ago we moved into our brand new Ball home. After only a few weeks of living in our new home, we noticed extremely soft areas throughout the first and second floor of our home that sits on an unfinished basement. The areas have become so bad that simply walking through the kitchen will shake the refrigerator so much that the door pops open. Continuing to walk through the formal dining room will cause the doors on my China hutch to open and slam closed, and items to completely fall off the shelves. Our kitchen cabin... read more

Business response:

We made repairs to the home in question in September of 2021 following further discussions with the homeowner. While our views and the views of their home inspector did not completely align, we did work to address the issue and completed the appropriate repairs. We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration the customer has experienced.

Ball Homes is the worst home builder I have ever had a relationship with! And I don't seem to be the only person who has this opinion. I closed on a home 8/31/18 since then I have had NOTHING but issues!!! My ice maker broke within 6 months, I had to call out an electrician today for a blown microwave that I will have to replace, my upstairs bathroom has a leak which is draining on my kitchen ceiling, that was blamed on my children splashing water. They came to fix the microwave, changed out the outlet that didn't fix it, so... read more

Business response:

We can confirm that we did review and investigate a warranty claim related to water damage but were never able to confirm a leak after multiple visits and cutting into the drywall to look for leaks. The owner of the plumbing company, who made a personal visit to the home, determined that the cause of the water stains on the ceiling were due to splashing outside the tub and not any defect. We did send an electrician to the house in response to a warranty item but two voice mails and an email to the customer trying to schedule... read more

We purchased a spec Ball home 3 years ago. There is faulty electrical work and a basement plug trips every time it rains. This was supposedly fixed at the 1 year review. We had a water line in the basement that was not up to code, so when we finished our basement we had to pay to have it fixed so it passed inspection. We have an entire area of the house where the tile was not properly laid, so the grout and tiles pop out. This was also supposedly fixed during the one year review. We were also promised that they would come ba... read more

Business response:

We are sorry to hear that the customer's experience was negative. We have reviewed are customer service files and show that we did perform warranty work in the home at the six month and one year list intervals and no requested items were declined, or recurring issues noted in the file. According to our customer service records all items were completed and a courtesy call for a roof leak reported outside of the warranty period was addressed as well. We do not find any reported issues with the basement electric on the one year... read more

We moved in April 2020 in Lexington Ky I am a contractor myself been in for 35 years I have already had to redo HVAC, going to replace toilets, electric is a joke concrete has never been sealed so you have mud that you can not get out. They are about building as many as they can and get you in then forget about you called today about grading and sod no answer so I guess I have to live with mud until they see fit to move on.

I wish I could give Ball Homes a ZERO!! I am a Veteran & was happy to be purchasing my 1st home. My 1st mistake was even dealing with this terrible company. They will not honor anything even if it is on their own letter head, they will lie and say they sent someone out and found nothing wrong when no one even came by. BUYER BEWARE!! VETERAN'S Do Not Use your VA Money with Ball Homes! Go somewhere else...ANYWHERE!! Absolutely the worst home builders this side of the Mississippi! Shame on you Ball Homes! To think I protected ... read more
