This tidy spot in the outer Avenues is a cozy place for great Teriyaki. The decor is typically Japanese with rice-paper screens at the windows and rice-paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The food is well prepared and served with cheerful graciousness by the staff. Selections include a wonderful marinated Chicken Teriyaki that is succulent and smoky-sweet. You will also find some nicely done tempura dishes that please the palates of mostly the local crowd of carnivores or vegetarians with the variety of options offered.

Better in the past I used to love Balboa Teriyaki for the sauce on their beef teriyaki. It used to be amazing. However, they changed owners and the food was never quite as good. The previous owner was really nice and friendly and I was sad to see her leave. The food is okay but considering the other options of Japanese food in SF, I would say pass and go somewhere else.

Delicious, yet affordable – The sushi is delicious. The service can be slow, but the wait staff is courteous. If you're in the O. Richmond, it's definitely worth a visit. It's very reasonably priced. My boyfriend and had a fairly large selection of sushi and it was around $30 for the 2 of us. Can't walk out of a lot of sushi places for that price...unless you leave still hungry.

Gone downhill – Stopped by for takeout and was very dissapointed by the quality of food. Ordered tonkatsu, chicken kaarage and kaki fry. The batter for the chicken & oysters was thick and doughy. There was only tiny morsels of chicken meat and all batter plumped up to make the kaarage pieces look big. One of my oysters tasted bad. The crust on the tonkatsu was bland. They give you miso soup & a green salad w/the meal. For $30, quite a disappointment to see the food go downhill at this place as we've been patrons for years. I don't think I'll be back for awhile as there are other options in the city for Japanese food.
