Sometimes you can walk into a bike shop and just know it is now YOUR local bike shop. This is now my LBS. They treat me well, they don't try to oversell you and most importantly...I don't see any spandex style pretentiousness like the vibe some other shops give. You can tell the staff are real world bicyclists. If you like a down to earth, friendly and competent bike shop, this is the one. Took one of my old mountain bikes in, they turned it around in a day. Very impressive, could not recommend higher.
Brought my bike in that hasn't been touched in about 12 years. it was unrideable and looked like it hadn't been used in 30 years. The guys at Balance walked me through what needed to be done to restore it. 2-3 days later it was ready, rideable, and looked fantastic. Really appreciate the professionalism, and detail they paid to my bike. Even though Balance Bicycle Shop is not near me, I will go out of my way to use them for my bike needs going forward.
