Depends on what you're looking for! MMMMM Baja! Don't get crazy now and order from the wild entrees on the menu. Stick to the simple foods like burritos, taquitos, quesadillas, chips and fries. Yummy stuff and fairly cheap for sit down. Usually pretty fast and accurate. Wish they'd work on the yucky sweet tea but the Black beans are the best in the WORLD. Sucks for gluten free though! Mexican? Not so much.......... Working downtown we eat out alot and we used to go to this establishment quite often, not for the mexican but for the burgers. The burgers were great! The mexican was the worst i have ever had! Its so bland and the waitstaff usually has the owner on hand. If you tell her something is wrong with your meal she gets really mad and huffs and puffs while rolling her eyes. This place needs mexican flare and true authentic mexican cooks to make it better. Fiesta! Pretty little Catina, with great food with a Spanish feel. They have great food with an authentic feel. They are located in downtown Staunton which has a lot of little shops and its fun to get away and enjoy the downtown feel.
Great food, atmosphere and prices! We love the Baja Bean in Staunton! The food is great and the prices are very reasonable. The black and white quesadilla is excellent and the salsa is so yummy! A must for a visit while in Downtown Staunton.
Baja Bean Co is the best Mex in Staunton Shelly B gives El Puerto five stars and Baja Bean one... that's a Staunton pallet for ya. The burgers at the Bean are frozen patties while the Mexican food is made fresh and truly authentic not American-Mex like El Puerto. Calling El Puerto Mexican is like calling Pizza Hut Italian.
My favorite downtown restaurant This is the best casual place in donwtown Staunton to eat. The margaritas are the best around and it has the widest selection of beer in the area. Oh yeah, and the food is great, too (even for people who don't usually like mexican food.)
They have so much beer to choose from.
Food is somewhat Americanized, and service was poor. The beans and rice were bland and foods from cans would be more flavorful than this. The server seemed more interested in refilling the straw container and napkins at the server station than caring for his customers. I know they can't help the actions of other people, but they could have at least ushered out the drunk man that decided he wanted to stand over our table weaving and wobbling and commenting on how much food we had. Wreck of an experience and we won't be back.
