Do not use Backyard Pod. They built a backyard apartment for us. It was supposed to take 6-8 months - it took 13 months. Here is a list of a few of the things we had to deal with: Trenching was involved to install plumbing. After digging the trenches, we were told we had to pay extra to remove the rocks that were dug up from the yard. They claimed they didn’t anticipate the rocky soil. I love my backyard pod/casita! It is absolutely beautiful, super functional, and blends perfectly in my yard- bringing extra space and income to boot! Great experience; great outcome. Highly recommend!
The team did an excellent job constructing the pod and maintained clear communication throughout the process. Although we encountered a few hiccups along the way, they were resolved promptly and professionally. One important note: irrigation lines are not covered as part of the build. If a pipe is accidentally damaged, the repair cost falls to the homeowner. In my case, a line was hit, but the team was able to fix it for an additional fee.
If you’re African American DO NOT patronize this place! The superintendent is a racist! Be careful who you spend your dollars with and who you allow into your home. He clearly thinks all of us are criminals and low lives. Even those of us who are ex military like myself or just regular civilians trying to live decent lives. Be aware!
Pod Homes worked hard to help make our Prayer Mountain dreams a reality! From start to finish, they delivered a smooth, efficient, and high-quality building experience.
