I was very pleased with the appraisal done by Lee Backhaus. I felt it was very fair. The appraisal was held within a couple of weeks of the initial phone call and the paperwork was done within 12 days. The appraisal was extremely thorough, had good pictures and several comparisons.
Be cautious using this company to appraise your property. We recently moved to Alexandria from out of state and this company was randomly chosen to conduct the appraisal on our new home. During closing our mortgage banker mentioned the appraisal company, stated they appraised our home as high as possible to assist in driving up the loan at the bank. "What?" Be careful, we had 2 appraisals on our property from this company. In 2015 this company was randomly selected to perform our first appraisal when we used them to establish an equity line for our property, In 2017 we listed the same property with some improvements. This company was selected again at random and this property appraised for the same value as 2015. I question the due-diligence of the appraiser to evaluate the property in accordance with current market conditions.
Worst company I have ever dealt with. Completely unprofessional. They hung up on me. Would not recommend them to anyone. Definitely not worthy of the one star you have to give in order to submit a review!!!
