NOT WORTH THE STRESS OR TIME – I went to this place under the pretense that cheap dinner and free drinks would make for a great time. I WAS VERY WRONG. All I have to say is my night was spent with staff standing over our table, rushing us to order, rushing us to eat, and rushing us to leave. I don't care how cheap the meal or drinks are, the cost of valium I needed to stay calm through the meal was much more. Do not waste your time.
Great sushi for the price – Decided to check this place out as it was widely known for its free saki and white wine if you order $15 or more per person. The wine was pretty light and tasted water'ed down and the saki was decent. Try ordering the Manhattan roll (a shrimp tempura wrapped in Spicy Tuna) as that was pretty delish! This place is definately a good spot to have a nice dinner for the budget conscious. The place is pretty narrow and was crowded so definately make a reservation. I'll be back again soon.
Spend $15 in 1 night! – Here is the deal . . . spend $15 on sushi and get unlimited wine or sake!! Yeah, so the wine is cheap (probably comes out of a box), but for all of you recent college grads trying to make a living and enjoy the city while you're doing it, this is the place to start off your night! The restaurant is very small and narrow, so you need to make a reservation. You can drink here and then only have to buy one drink the rest of the night. The food is suprisingly very good too! They have very unique, individu... read more
Great Find Sushi Place near Union Square – The complimentary saki draws you to this suprisingly semi-elegant restaurant. The sushi is not going to knock you off your seat but it's good for the price and the service was great.
Free Drinks & Great Sushi – Okay, so the sushi here isn't top notch. But, if you order te special rolls, they're actually really inventive and good. The mango tango (basically an eel roll with a layer of mango on top) is interesting as the mango adds a new dynamic of flavor. The spicy runa roll is really good as it's twisted with tempura crumbles for a new effect. The Soft crab roll is a lilttle too salty/filling for my taste. The best part of the menu is the unlimited wine and saki you get. I don't know about the other revi... read more
Rushed service – In an effort to turn over tables and limit your "free" alcohol, the waitress was over at our table asking us if we were ready to order every two minutes. She didn't use those frequent visits to refill our water/sake/wine though. I may have had about 2 glasses of wine, and when asking for a third was told I would need to order more food, when the table had easily spent 25$ per person. The rolls were good. Nothing special. The restaurant was good, just not what I was expecting.
Free booze and great sushi! – Yeah, you can great free booze-sake or white wine if you order $15 or more of food. Also, you get an extra bonus with the free alcohol-pretty darn good sushi. Warning though, they might be a little slow with bringing you the booze!
Great teriyaki and sake! – I went to this restaurant not expecting much and was overwhelmed with the size of the course and the free sake. You have to buy dinner (at least 15 dollars worth) to get it, but the teriyaki dishes are excellant and the sushi is very fresh and cut well! I keep getting calls from my friends thanking me for finding this restaurant. And if you don't like sake, their house white wine is also complimentary, and from what my friends say, it's really good! Go try this place out! Forewarning: Near the end ... read more
This casual sushi restaurant reels Flatiron District regulars with free wine and sake. – The Scene A fish tank gurgles by the front door, marking one of the neighborhood's seafood favorites. Though nothing fancy, the long and narrow space dresses itself up with swirly votive candleholders and painted marbling on the soaring, peach-colored ceiling. Tables are comfortably distanced, forcing waiters to make quick turnovers during lunch and dinner rushes. The Food While the offer of unlimited free wine and sake with dinner may s... read more
