My experience at Awake & Aware was really terrible. My therapist was very controlling. Every time I told her I wasn't comfortable with what she was telling me to do, or that I felt it would trigger my trauma, she told me that I was being "willful." In fact, in one session, in a state of exasperation, she said, "You really need to trust me. I know what I'm doing." Who says that to a trauma survivor?
