Scammed by the counter agent. Had a car reservation at 4pm last Thursday. I arrived early around 3:15pm at the counter to pick up the car since this Avis location closes at 4pm. The agent told me he was charging +$25 for picking the car up an "hour early", even though I was less than an hour early. I planned to drive the car up to Canada, so I asked for a non-resident insurance card (free and mandatory as stated on their website). However, the agent was adamant it was +$11/day to get the card. Avoid this Avis location. We returned our rental clean and with a full tank, yet were charged a $200 "cleaning fee", twice the cost of the rental itself, for a car that was spotless. When we tried to resolve it, the manager was conveniently unavailable, and despite promising to call us back, no one ever did. Dishonest and unprofessional. Save yourself the headache and rent elsewhere.
