Great food, great atmosphere – Good food and great scenery...walking down Main Street Huntington Beach as you eat. The service is a little slow @ busy times of the day.
When can I order then? – I patronized this establishment a few times and was excited to purchase some of their party trays for a Friday night party a couple weeks ago. I needed enough for 25-30 people. A good sized order that any restaurant would be excited to receive. Not here! I called on a Tuesday for a Friday evening pickup. On the phone is was rudely told this was their "busy time." So i asked, "does this mean I can't order any party platters?" The gal responds, "It's our busy time, sorry" and click. hung up on! Maybe t... read more
This is THE PLACE for Mexican – I could eat at this place again and again. My waitress was superb and the food was excellent. The atmosphere is very authentic and I love the margaritas (especailly the Fruit Margaritas). Be sure to try the soup, it is the best. Overall great place!
I'd have to agree...avoid at all costs – This place was loud and cold. I went on a Friday night when the weather was not very warm and I had to either keep my jacket on the whole night or keep drinking. The Margaritas were very weak and the food tasted and looked like it had been thrown together.
This family-owned Mexican bar and grill offers a casual atmosphere to its guests while serving up fresh and authentic recipes. – In Short In 1966, Mama Avila began to cook her Mexican recipes for the Huntington Beach area. Since then the restaurant has never left the family's hands and the recipes claim to use the same ingredients called for in the beginning. The authentic Mexican menu offers distinctive flavors, from the spicy and sweet salsa to the Chingolingas, piping hot pastries stuffed with grilled chicken, rice and be... read more
Pretty good authentic Mexican – Overall I liked this place. Being from the South I'm pretty tough on Mexican food. They spiced everything really well and it tasted fresh. I thought for the quality it was a little pricey, esp for the cadillac margaritas which didn't use high quality tequila. Outdoor patio is a wonderful place to have dinner
The Best Mexican in the Area! – I was not expecting too much before arriving, but I left pleasantly suprised! The service was incredible, while the decor is second to none. It truly was a great experience. I recommend this to family's and singles and anyone in between. Don't forget to try the cadillac margaritas because they were the best I have ever had...Viva El Ranchito!
Avoid at all times – I ordered a breakfast burrito to go. I t was way overpriced $7.00 plus tax and seasoning was bland. Very few patrons inside. The burger joint next door had a line out the door. Dont recommend
good chips and salsa – i went here for lunch recently and we were promptly seated. the service was great and fast. the chips were warm and crunchy (i thought the warm part was a nice touch). i ordered the carnitas, which i thought were ok. everybody else enjoyed their orders (enchiladas).
