VERY (unethically) expensive! The specialist I saw seemed disinterested, lethargic and negative. No in depth medical history taken. I wasn’t sure he was even listening some of the time and felt that there was a total lack of empathy. I had to advocate for myself strongly to inspire him to try a few different treatment options which he ended up agreeing might be useful. I was reffered by my doctor for my dustmite allergies - had to wait 6 months for a 10 minute skin prick appointment that cost $750. No medicare rebate even though I wrote my medicare no. on the intake form. Don't get me wrong, the doctor was absolutely excellent - but I have a massive issue with how this clinic runs their business. They cancel or change appointments without notifying you and reception staff are rude and unhelpful. They also don’t provide information such as a new referral needed for every follow up appointment.

I'm halfway through a three-year treatment plan with Avid Allergy, and dealing with them has been, hands down, the worst experience I've ever had with a medical practice. - They're unreachable by phone, except to book appointments. - They're unreachable by email, except through a web form. - Their staff are rude and aloof. - They charge hundreds of dollars for appointments, even if all they do is renew a prescription. - They've bungled several orders of the product in the prescription, twice causing delays to a treatment tha... read more
