Would give it zero stars if I could. Booked and paid for a room, I showed up later in the night the day of my booking and they told me that my booking had been cancelled and tranferred to the Embassy Suites a mile away. Zero notice, zero apologies, just because they overbooked. Terrible business practices.
I recently stayed at the Avatar Hotel in Santa Clara for two nights during a business trip. This was my first time staying there, and I was initially uncertain about my choice. I generally stay at the Hilton or Embassy Suites. From the outside, the property has more of a motel appearance, which made me a bit hesitant. Mixed review. Servers at the Parkstone: fantastic. Location and quality of the room: fantastic. Front desk: needs more training. When we checked in, were told we would receive a daily voucher for the food charges due to our status with Hilton. Upon checkout, the front desk person said "Sorry, no voucher. You are out of luck". I guess next time we will check and double check throughout the trip, as it depends on who works the front desk as to whether or not the commitments will be honored.
Excellent location, very nice property, excellent value.
Fun hotel in a great area. Really appreciate all the employees making me feel welcome.
