Love it here
We continue to be very pleased with our loved ones care at Avalon in Allen. Karescia has been a diligent leader, she is invested in us, and she truly shows how much she cares about her residents, especially our mother. When we address a need, she listens, addresses the need, and follows up on it with us. And we always feel like she has our mothers best interests at heart. We placed Mom in Avalons care 2.5 years ago and it's been the best decision, thanks to Karesecia and the wonderful team she has!
RUN!!!!! Do not trust Avalon with your loved one!!! When my Granny arrived at Avalon, she was able to walk short distances with her walker and NOW she is bed bound after FOUR DAYS at Avalon. Not one person called me to check on Granny once the ambulance left Avalon. THANKFULLY she was not dropped off at the local 7/11 store. At 8am the next day - the employee assigned to hospital admissions called to inquire if Granny would be returning to Avalon. Not one time did I hear empathy regarding Granny's medical condition from this... read more

This is the first time we put a parent into a memory care facility and I must say Avalon did not make it a great experience at all. The entire upper management at the facility and at the corporate office needs to be looked into by the agency that regulates the medication and supervision of the elderly. They do not return calls or emails when there is a concern. We have now located and found a better place and believe the $6000 a month we pay will be better used for the care of my father.
