I've been a 3ds Max indie customer for years, despite barely using it. Switched to Mac, no Mac version available. They tried to charge me for the full year, and was initially refused a refund until I complained again. Considering I barely opened it, it was a stretch to try to hang onto the cash. The support seems empty and soulless, really not encouraging as a customer. Options like Blender, Houdini and Unreal Engine are going to eat heavily into their market in the near future so I'd take a look at them as alternatives.
