I took my car to the Auto Doctor because it would not start. His initial diagnosis was that it needed a starter and would cost a couple of hundred dollars or more, When Alex, the owner/mechanic checked it out, it turned out that there were only a couple of loose wires and that the car did NOT need a new starter. Alex could have put in a new starter anyway and charged me the large amount I was already expecting.
