I just gave birth to my first child 7 weeks ago and Jami was my birth doula. I can't say enough good things about her! Before my baby came, she provided me with so many helpful resources and really helped me feel prepared and excited for my birth. The day of my birth, she came to my home and helped me labor there for several hours until I was ready to go to the hospital. While I've never gotten to experience Jami in her chosen field, I have experienced her skills as a mother. She is the most incredibly patient, loving, resourceful, creative parent to her son I have ever seen. All these qualities are so important to being a doula. I would have sought her out during the years I was having children.
My husband and I first decided to hire Jami as our Doula because neither of us have family in NC and we wanted some extra support since this was our first baby. From the beginning Jami was a wonderful resource to have, she was great at answering my questions and our meetings really helped me to feel calm and ready to give birth. Jami helped me through my labor, held my hand as I cried after being forced into an emergency c section, and helped me adapt to life with a newborn and a 2 year old. She helped me talk through my devastation of not having the natural birth i wanted, encouraged me to continue my breastfeeding journey when i wasn't sure i could do it anymore, and was there for anything i needed.
