Dr Loftus is indeed the best in austin. I had a previous surgery from a diffent dr..My family dr referred me to thomas loftus..The first visit he made me feel relax and very aware of what i needed to have done..Fusion c3-c4,c5-c6 and bone spurs..The left side of my body had terrible pain..After surgery i felt find in about 2 weeks..after about six months my back started even out, the pain in my lower back and right leg is unbelieveable, went back the "THE MAN" of course my luck one more disc out in my back, at this time a wa... read more
Let me start by saying that I am a doctor myself (chiropractor). I started having pain in my neck following an accident in the military in 1989 (I was an Army Ranger). The pain quickly started traveling down my right arm seemingly originating from my right shoulder, this is improtant because almost every doctor I saw for the next 10 years concentrated their treatment on my right shoulder. The problem was, after 10 years, the pain had gotten much worse and was traveling down both arms. Additionally I had severe lower back pai... read more
Dr Loftus was the first doctor to put my MRI up on the screen and actually show me what was causing all of my pain. Other doctors and even my primary care doctor just kept treating me like a liar and the pain clinics are just cold and only care about pushing epidural injections. I was shocked to see how a large hernia was pressing against my spine and really shocked to know that other doctors still kept trying to push " a bandaid on a gunshot" type treatment just for the money and didnt even tell me until 4 months after the ... read more
What a relief....This guy did an outstanding job. He was able to help me with an L4-L5-S1 injury that I had sustained for the second time in 20 years.(On the same discs). He assured me that a fusion wasnt necessary, but did thoroughly explain my situation and recommended extra precaution when using my back. He explained some of the misconceptions of my condition, (degenerative disc disease) and explained my MRI in great detail. He is highly accredited, his staff and nurse were very kind and very professiona.I applaud his int... read more
Dr. Loftus and his entire team are in my opinion by far the best team I have ever had to associate with. I have disk degenerative disease and herniated disks. Dr. Loftus was very thorough in giving me my options. Surgery was the ending outcome.I had surgery on August 31,2009. I had a lower lumbar fusion. The doctors were very supportive and explained every step in the procedure as many times as I needed to feel comfortable. I am still recovering at this point, but seem to be doing very well. If I had to make the decision of ... read more
AFter 3 different surgeons I was lucky to have my wife go Active duty military after my 5 years in the marines ended. I have been dealing with back pain and sharp pains shooting down my left leg for 2 and a half years. I have done everything from physical theropy, spinal decompression, and steroid injections. Since it was a injury that occured during my tours in Iraq I was stuck with the VA for treatment. I will not go any further with the VA as to they were no help. Once my TRICARE kicked in my primary care doctor reccommen... read more
