This company is so terrible .. why aren’t their other light bill companies!!?? I’m getting slammed with “ return payment fees” from payments that I’ve paid and it gets cancelled and sent back to my account this is such a scam ugh. I had a 247 light bill and got the 200 dollars waived after I made a payment of 205 .. which got CANCELLED and charged back to my account.. I then paid 78 dollars and it was cancelled and sent back .. just to get the payment paid I had to call an agent and make sure sure that they money is taken of... read more
Austin Energy is a total disaster. Their screw ups led to a massive outage and power surge right here in East Austin that totally fried my HVAC unit. I ended up shelling out hundreds just to figure out what went wrong because of their mess. People around here are always on edge, dreading the next blackout whenever a storm rolls in or it freezes up. It's like they see us regular folks as just numbers in their money-making scheme. Worst utility company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Been on Austin Energy for over 4 years and we lose power at least once a year for 24 hours or more. Had my bill setup on auto pay and they had an issue charging my card but failed to even attempt to contact me for 3 MONTHS! Not a single text message, email or phone call that my bill was past due. Then I receive a letter in the mail threatining to shut off my electricity and when I attempt to pay my past due bill they say I can only pay cash in person at their of... read more
