Tried to visit today 7/23, but the retail entrance doors were closed and locked at 12pm. I walked to the office and the guy said they were having staffing issues and the worker for that area was on lunch. He said he would be back in half an hour to 45 minutes. I went to run some other errands and arrived back at 1pm to a sign on the door saying they would be back at 2pm. You used to be able to actually browse through the unfinished hardwoods here when it was Aura. But now you wait to wait for someone to bring you a pallet by forklift and if there’s a line it could be a while. And if its not what you want or you want to consider another species you have to go through the whole process all over again. Better to just go three minutes up the road to hughes.
New policy where they don’t allow you to sort through the 10’ rift sawn oak and you have to buy by the row. You can’t grain match or avoid knots. They want to sell you a mix of good and bad to maximize profits. Do yourself a favor and head down the road to Hughes hardwoods. They will let you sort through the wood and are happy to help.
