My favorite Italian restaurant I was surprised to read the previous review since I have been a regular here for many years. I can say without a doubt that Aunt Bella's is the best Italian restaurant I have ever been too (and I dine quite a bit, many times in upscale establishments). This is not the place for a romantic date but excellent for recurring ones, diner with friends/ family or take out. The staff here never changes which is indicative of how the place is run and the food is second to none.
Local Italian Dive Aunt Bella's used to be a great place to go. Over the years I feel it has really lost not only a lot of it's charm (and there wasn't much to start with), but the food just isn't as good as it was. Perhaps my tastes are becoming more sophisticated. I don't know. I just know that the past 3 times I was there I was disappointed.

I little slice of heaven, or your Nona's dining room – What can I say, Aunt Bella's is not just a restaurant, it's an institution. If you grew up in the Little Neck - Douglaston - Bayside area, you knew that Friday night pizza was coming from there. Aunt Bella's Does it get any better? – Some twenty years ago a musician friend of mine bragged about this inexpensive italian restaurant he knew, built into the side of a hill, that was soooo GOOOOOD. It was called Aunt Bella's. So I went. And it was better than good. The food was GREAT!!! And like my friend said it was very reasonble. What a find.
