Yesterday was the first time I had returned to Augusta, Seafood since it has been under new ownership, and I have to say I will never return. I bought 40 dollars worth of shucked clams, but was deceived to think I had enough meaty bellies for a special birthday dinner of fried clams. Once I dumped the clams in the strainer to wash, I realized that the underneath the first layer of bellies was nothing but rubbery necks. Went in to purchase shucked clams. Wanted 1 pint which is 2 cups or 16oz. We received 1 1/2 cups 9 5/8 oz. I believe that we got short changed and when I called the store the guy wouldn't do anything about it. Very bad customer service
We saw the reviews that said the lobster roll here was better than the Red Barn. We thought we'd give it a try, even though the outdoor seating looked more like yard sale goods waiting to be taken away—in fact, we parked in the drive of nearby Savage Park to eat. This really is takeaway only. But the rolls were large, with flat sides grilled brown in butter. And more, as my wife exclaimed, "No lettuce; just lobster!" I live in NC, but every time I visit my family, I bring back a cooler full of lobster. And they live for the whole trip. I will definitely be back!
