I had surgery on my shoulder here in early February. Seven days after my surgery I called with a medical question regarding my recovery. No one has called me as of now. I paid the full amount of my surgery according to the receptionist. Guess what? Got my eob and I paid approximately 50% more than I actually owe. A suggestion would be to allow a family member to sit with the patient in the preoperative area before they go to the OR. It would help ease anxiety and allow for a little distraction since cell phones are not allowed back there. Additionally, there may be some things that the surgeon or anesthesiologist explains to the patient but the patient forgets or not fully comprehends because there is a higher level of anxiety that patients have before surgery.
I had a shoulder procedure done here yesterday. Everyone from the moment we entered the building was super nice and helpful. Helping me feel more at ease and comfortable. My pre op nurse Natalie was amazing. She had to listen to all my nervous chatter and she was there for it. Answered all my questions and kept me comfortable. Dr Rainey the anesthesiologist was amazing and answered all my nervous questions to make me feel more comfortable with the anesthesia.
