I had a scan done for a pain in my side which resulted in a finding of a spiculared nodule in my left lung. I was referred to a doctor at Hugley hospital whom I saw and scheduled me for a biopsy. The Dr was pleasant and all that, something told me I needed to try and go to UTSW in Dallas as they have an excellent Pulmonologist dept. I canceled the biopsy and saw Dr Schwalk in Dallas. So glad I found her She was willing to dig deeper into my issue to figure out what was wrong with me when so many other specialists wouldn’t. She is kind and listens attentively and offers solutions.
She took over my care after almost 3 weeks in the hospital due to postpartum complications. She was unfamiliar with my medical history and course in the hospital and had a poor bedside manner with no empathy. As a physician myself, I do not recommend her and will not be seeing her again.
She is my pulmonary disease doctor. She takes time to explain, listens to my concerns - and responds to my messages the same day or at least the following day. She is proactive about testing and worked very hard to get me scheduled - even for tests that might be ruled out later. She believes it's best to have them on the book just in case and then cancel if needed - this is the very best for the patient!
