Misleading advertising re: "100% PURE aluminum heavyweight foil". The product is probably 50% aluminum, 50% a sheet of something else. I purchased the 48" perforated double-sided radiant barrier foil. While not a "metalized film", it is a sheet of something layered with metal. I realized this because the metal is easily removed, like by the factory tape holding the roll as I unpackaged it, or if you handle it a lot you can see shiny specks of material on your fingers. Great product. Builder said it was tough stuff. Anxious to see how it goes this summer.
My western-facing garage gets really hot in the summer and some of my stuff was starting to deteriorate due to the heat. I did some online research and learned that if you lay an aluminum radiant barrier over the insulation or stapled to the rafters about 97% of the infrared waves are reflected back out through the roof which can net up to a 30 degree cooler garage.
